We want to make your feet soar!
The U of S Ballroom Dancing Club was started in 1964 by two Nigerian graduate students. Membership was about 30 people. In the mid- seventies, interest in dance was on an upswing and in 1977, membership was limited to 1,500. We now have more than 1,000 members and are one of the largest clubs on campus.
You do not need to register with a partner. Dancers are encouraged to change partners regularly in class, so even if you don't have a partner, you are encouraged to join. In addition, dances are intended to be social occasions. Women are encouraged to ask men to dance and members to ask instructors to dance. It is a great opportunity to dance and make new friends with all those present.
