2011–12 Week 8

We hope everyone who attended the beginner dance on Friday enjoyed themselves. Thanks to Don Smith our DJ for the evening, Club instructors, Executive members, and Club volunteers who assisted with this event.

This is your last week to purchase Mistletoes dinner or dance only tickets in class at member price. Reserved sitting for dinner tickets is available only for tickets purchased in class. Seating for dance only tickets is in the dance only non reserved section. Tickets are available for sale in class until Thursday November 10th.

Online ticket sales will be available at the non-member price for both dinner and dance only tickets through Picatic http://www.picatic.com/ticket/event750708/ from November 6 until November 14. Dinner seating is only available in the non-reserved section and seating for dance only tickets is in the dance only non reserved section.

Mistletoes is held at TCU Place on November 26th, 2011. Doors open at 6:00 pm for dinner and 8:30 pm for dance only. Music will be by the Don Griffith Orchestra and routines by our members and instructors will be performed. See the poster available on the music cabinet for more details.

Please double check your reservation choice prior to handing in your Mistletoes dance order form and honor your original reservation choice on the evening of the dance. Changing your mind and sitting somewhere else on the evening of the dance, other than your original choice, will result in bumping another member to a different table. Anyone found seated in a class other than what they originally requested will be asked to move.

The fall General Meeting of the Club will be held on Wednesday November 30 at 7:00 pm, U of S Campus, Arts 133. Attend the meeting to find out how your Club operates, ask questions, and vote for incoming Executive members. Please consider allowing your name to stand for election for an Executive position.

Please note we have posted the Club bylaws, dance team policy and harassment policy on the website for our members’ information. In the next few weeks, we will be adding general descriptions of the duties of each Executive position to the Club website. If you have any questions about any of the Executive positions, please feel free to send an email to our general email address on the contact tab of the website.

Can’t make it to dance class? Don’t worry – just come back next week!

The Ice Crystal Ball will be held on Saturday January 14 in Manitou Beach at Danceland! If you have never been to historic Danceland, here is a great opportunity to attend a dinner-dance at a modest price and savor some Saskatchewan history. Ticket order forms will be available in class on November 13th, but must be dropped off at Mistletoes or at the BDC general meeting or they can be mailed to the Club by December 5. Tickets will be mailed to you if you include a self addressed, stamped envelope with your order. You may also pick up your tickets in class from January 8-January 12th.

Transportation? You can ride or sleep in safety, warmth and comfort regardless of the weather by booking on our fully equipped tour bus to the Ice Crystal Ball. A return ticket is $22.00, but it must be ordered early as numbers are limited.
