February 11 at TCU Place. Theme “Paint the Town Red”; open for your interpretation. Dance tickets purchased in class are available for pick up in class from January 29th, 2012 until February 9th, 2012. To date we have sold 285 tickets. If you missed purchasing tickets in class you may still buy your tickets online through Picatic http://www.picatic.com/ticket/event288708/ until February 7th, 2012. Prizes will be awarded to the best costume/outfit for the following categories: best female, best male, and best couple.

In response to member feedback doors for this dance will open at 7:30pm, dancing is from 8pm until midnight.


Please refrain from wearing scented products (perfumes, colognes, scented soaps) due to sensitivities of other members in your class.


The Term 2 member workshop will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 4th and 5th, 2012. The workshops are for members only. Your Membership card is required to gain entrance to the workshop. No fee to attend the first workshop, fee of $10 to attend additional workshops. The sessions will be taught by Michael Milette, Principal Instructor for the BDC. Jive will be taught at the beginner level and triple swing/east coast swing at the intermediate and advanced levels. The sessions on Sunday will be the same as those on Saturday, but the times and sequence of levels differ. Please consult the poster on the music cabinet in class or the Club website for details.

The workshops will be held at Holliston School, 1511 Louise Avenue, south of 8th Street. Use the entrance on the south side of the building. As usual, Nancy’s Dancin' from Regina will be selling dance shoes during the workshops.

Advanced CLASSES Only - Instructor Recruitment

Each year advanced dancers are invited to try out to become an instructor for the Club. A recruitment workshop will be held at Albert Community Center (ACC) at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12th, 2012. Advanced students with an interest in teaching are encouraged to considered trying out. Information letters and application forms are available on the Club website and at all teaching locations. Think about attending the recruitment session or encourage a friend to, who you observe to be a skilled dancer. Please submit applications by February 6th, 2012 and according to the instructions on the form, so that we may plan for the expected numbers.
