2012–13 Week 1

WELCOME

Welcome to another dancing year for our returning members and a special welcome to new Club members. These weekly announcements are posted on our Club website and will keep you informed of Club activities. All members who provided an email address at registration will receive one group email per month highlighting important Club events or deadlines.

REGISTRATION, LATE, SECOND CLASS AND ONLINE CLASS REGISTRATION

As usual, registration was a busy time and we are grateful to our many Club members who volunteered to help. We understand the frustration of members who were unable to get into their class of first choice or who had to wait in line until the ratio of leads to follows was balanced. To date the Club has registered approximately 800 members, a decrease of 53 members from last year. However, it’s not too late for people to join or rejoin the Club or to register for a second class. Two additional opportunities to register are as follows:

Online registration will be available through the Club website www.uofsbdc.com from Monday September 17th to Thursday September 20th. Please click on the registration link and follow the prompts. You may register for yourself and your regular dancing partner at the same time, if registering for the same class, and if this is the first time you or your partner are registering for a class in 2012-2013. The maximum lead/follow differential will remain at 3 or less. Online registration offers only non-refundable memberships at the non-student price. Payment is by credit card or PayPal only.

Late or second class registration will occur on Friday, September 21st from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the basement of St. Joseph’s Hall, 1006 Broadway.

Late registration is also an opportunity for members to register in a second class at a reduced price. If we can recruit more leads this way, it will improve the lead/follow balance. Space is still available in most class levels.

Please tell any of your friends wishing to take ballroom dance lessons about our online and late registration opportunities.
