HARVEST SWING

Saturday, October 13 at TCU Place, doors open at 7pm, dancing from 7:30-pm to midnight. Music by the U of S BDC Club. Please bring $2.00 if you plan on checking your coat.

This week is your last chance to pick up the tickets you ordered in class. Remember to sign for your tickets (on the large brown envelope) when you pick them up.

Tickets for purchase are still available on Picatic (http://www.picatic.com/event13483472447027) until October 9th, 2012.

If you bought your ticket on Picatic, please remember to take your BDC member card to Harvest Swing as proof of your membership.

PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, SOCIAL COORDINATOR, and GENERAL MEMBER AT LARGE REQUIRED

All members, including newer members, are invited to run for any position on the Executive. Please consider allowing your name to stand for one of the above four positions. The position of Vice-President is vacant and can be filled prior to our General Membership meeting in December. If you are interested in running for the position of VP please contact the Club prior to the Executive meeting on October 12th. Brief details on the duties of each Executive member are available on our Club website. For additional information please contact the Club and the appropriate Executive member will return your inquiry.

VOLUNTEER BOOK-KEEPER REQUIRED

The Club is in need of a volunteer to assist the Financial Officer in recording financial records for the Club. This is the perfect opportunity for a SIAST or University student, who is looking to gain experience in accounting. Familiarity with simply accounting would be beneficial but not required. Approximately 3-4 volunteer hours per month will be required. If you are interested, please submit your resume to ballroom.dance@usask.ca by October 13th, 2012.

TERM 1 MEMBER CLUB WORKSHOP

The Club’s first member workshops will be held on Saturday October 27 and Sunday October 28, 2012 at Holliston School. Tango will be taught at all levels, by our Principal Instructor Michael Milette. This year there is a fee of $5.00 to attend each workshop, to a maximum of $30.00 to attend all six workshops. As this workshop is ONLY for Club members you must present your member card to attend. The sessions on Sunday will be the same as those on Saturday, but the times and sequence of levels differ. You may not transfer your membership to allow another person to take your place at the workshop.

Nancy’s Dancin' from Regina will be available to sell dance shoes during the workshops.

Please do not give up on attending your dance class, if in the future you miss a few dance classes in a row.
