2012–13 Week 12


Welcome to all the new members who joined our term 2 beginner class.


We hope everyone who attended Ice Crystal Ball enjoyed themselves. If you have a comment about the dance please email the Club, or fill out a green feedback form in class. Thanks to our Social Coordinator, Lydia Howell, and other Club volunteers who assisted with organizing this dance.


Please take advantage of our two free practice sessions; Tuesdays 7-8pm at ACC and Thursdays from 8:30-9:30pm at St. Joes.


February 9th at TCU Place. Theme “Masquerade”; open for your interpretation. Costumes are optional.

Dance tickets on sale this week, January 13th until January 24th. Ticket prices; member student $20, member non student $25.00, and non-member ticket $40.00.

Term 2 Workshop, February 2-3, 2013.


Please refrain from wearing scented products (perfumes, colognes, scented soaps) in your class.


Dance Team registration will be held on January 16th, 2013, Grosvenor Park United Church, 8:15pm, cost $75 which includes admission to the dinner and dance at Dancero. Class starts at 8:45pm. The dance this term will be East Coast Swing. To register for dance team you must have completed one full year of our intermediate program. Bernadette Deptuch and Aaron Phoenix will be instructing.

Members of Dance Team must be prepared to attend all or most of the classes, as well as some extra practice sessions immediately before Dancero. Since Dance Team requires an equal number of leads and follows, it is helpful to register with a partner. However, if you come without a partner you may find someone else at registration on the 16th with whom you can partner. You must bring your membership card and payment in order to register for Dance Team. Everyone who is planning to join Dance Team must in attendance at registration night!

ADVANCED MEMBERS ONLY - Instructor Recruitment

Each year advanced dancers are invited to try out to become an instructor for the Club. A recruitment workshop will be held at Albert Community Center (ACC) at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10th, 2013. Advanced students with an interest in teaching are encouraged to considered trying out. Information letters and application forms are available on the Club website, under the class and tickets and forms tab.

Consider attending the recruitment session or encourage a friend to, who you observe to be a skilled dancer. Please email your application to the Club at ballroom.dance@usask.ca as soon as possible, but no later than February 7th, 2013, so that we may plan for the expected numbers.
