Holiday Break All Levels
This is the last week of classes before the break for the holidays. Classes will resume in the new year starting on Sunday, January 5th, 2020.
Social Dance Etiquette Reminders All Levels
This is a friendly reminder for members about a few important dance etiquette tips:
- Leads; when dancing with someone that you have not danced with before, start slowly with basic steps and ‘build up’ to ensure a pattern or step is not lead that a follow may not yet be prepared or ready for.
- The safety of the follow is the lead’s responsibility.
- If you are not sure about the comfort level of you dance partner, ask them.
Term Two Semestered Class Sign-up Class 14 Class 17
A member of the executive will be attending the last week of classes for the termed beginner classes to register members interested in participating in term 2.
General registration for these classes will start in mid-December.
Mistletoes Formal Dance All Levels
Mistletoes will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 at TCU Place. This is our formal dinner and dance ending term one before the holiday break. Online and in-class registration is closed and if you have not received your registration e-mail for pre-purchase by Tuesday, please contact the club.
We will be offering the option to pay at the door for the dance only between 7:30pm and 8:30pm at the price of $30. There will be no option to pay at the door for Dinner and Dance admission. Paying at the door will be cash only as TCU staff will be administering this for us.

Club General Meeting All Levels
Our General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 27th, 2019.

Elections for executive positions will be held at our General Meeting. All positions are open for nominations; the following positions are known to be open for the following year:

December Monthly Dance All Levels
Our social dance for December will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at Trinity Orthodox Hall. Please remember clean dancing shoes and your member card.

Ice Crystal Ball and Return Bus Trip All Levels
Ice Crystal Ball will be held Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at Danceland in Manitou Beach, SK. Registration for our out-of-town dinner and dance will be available online starting Sunday, November 24th, 2019 and will be available until Monday, January 20th, 2020.
In person registration will be available for drop off at Mistletoes, our General Meeting and the first two weeks of classes in the New Year.
A block of rooms has been set aside at the Manitou Springs Resort and Mineral Spa under the name Ice Crystal Ball-U of S Ballroom Dance Club until Friday, January 3rd, 2020.

Keeping up with Club Events
All our announcements and event information will be posted on our website (www.uofsbdc.com) for easy access. We also encourage you follow us on twitter (@uofsbdc) and like our facebook page for up-to-date information on workshops, dances and events.
Our first practice session (which is term one only) will be held Thursdays at Nutana Legion from 6:30pm till 7:30pm.
Our second practice session will be held Thursdays at Grosvenor Park United Church from 7:45pm till 8:45pm.
Practice sessions start the second week of classes (Thursday, September 19th, 2019).
Volunteering With Us

There is nothing to worry about if you have to miss a class. Attending the next weeks class for your session is the best way to catch up on what you missed.
Keep Personal Effects on You
Please bring your shoes and personal effects in with you and not left unattended in waiting areas. This is for security of your personal belongings.
Please make sure that you have a clean, dry pair of non-marking shoes to use in classes and at our events and dances.
- Remove dirty outdoor shoes before entering the dance floor.
- Avoid putting dirty shoes on chairs or other furniture.
- Scrape dust from dance shoes into garbage bins; and never on the dance floors.
Your membership card is the easiest way to register for check in to club events. Make sure to have it on you or have a picture of it on your phone.
When you register for our events; the confirmation e-mail sent out is your guarantee that a registration went through. Make sure to contact the club if you do not receive an e-mail for a class or formal dance you registered for.
If you are finding the time of your class or level of your class is not working out, you are able to put in a transfer request. Class transfer requests are subject to both executive and instructor approval and there are no refunds for transferring to a lower level class. More information at: https://uofsbdc.link/class-transfer
