Ballroom Dancing By the River for June 27th Cancelled due to heavy rain.

We are sorry to announce that tonight’s Ballroom Dancing by the River is cancelled due to a severe rainfall warning issued by Environment Canada. With predicted rainfall amounts of up to 80 mm and the possibility of localised flooding, it is best to keep our dancing shoes dry and our feet safe.

For outdoor events, we have set up parameters that prioritize the safety of all individuals involved, including attendees, volunteers, and executives. As such, in case of significant rain or other extreme environmental conditions forecasted before or during the scheduled dance time, we may need to cancel the event. Wet grounds and potential electrical hazards create unsafe conditions for dancing in such circumstances. Although dancing in the rain seems idyllic in movies, it can be less comfortable in real life. Let us keep our dancing indoors today and anticipate our July 4th event, which we hope will bring sunnier skies.

Going forward, because the weather can be unpredictable in Saskatchewan, any cancellations will be communicated on our website as soon as possible, as well as on our social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. We encourage all attendees to stay informed by checking these channels if there are any uncertainties regarding the status of the event or you can contact us through email if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you on July 4th for our next Dancing by the River event. Let us hope for clear skies and a fabulous night of dancing!

Warm regards,U of S BDC Executive Team
